NEW box arrived today and the exact same issue
So it definately has an expired code shipped with it.
Capcom said they would contact Sony to see what was going on.

Did you buy it new? I purchased "Like New" games before and the codes have been redeemed.
As someone mentioned, the code may have an expiration date but I doubt Dead Rising 2's expiration date...

Ya, the main menu on PS3 is called XMB. It sounds like some PS3 DLC will give you the message your getting if you try and redeem the code in game rather than just going to redeem code in account...

No it would have this code has already been redeemed. Probably expired. You can try entering it on the console and see if a service code comes up. Googling/talking with CS should tell you what that...
