IT guy just said they were having small random problems throughout the network, and a simple reset of the router fixed all of it, including the Chrome issue. Very strange, but glad it is taken care...

IT fixed it last night! As I suspected, it was something on their end. What is was I don't know yet. I asked them what is was, and when I find out I will report back. Thanks for your help.

The new guy took an hour to fail to fix it... sounds worse than the first one :-) Not sure if this would work on windows, but try starting chrome from a command line with the option...

Very strange. I would just try a reinstall of Chrome, if you have admin rights on the PC. It can't hurt, and might fix the problem.
