Picked up MP 40cal compact at FFL today! Real nice! Comes in nice blue case with ammo and some grips. FFL dealer will be teaching the CCL course so I will be attending next month! Oh yeah!

You need a 9mm mag too for the conversion to work well. Botach has them for $22 shipped.

My mp 40 cal compact was delivered to FFL! I also just found out i can buy a barrel conversion to 9mm for around $100. So i can use 9mm and 40 cal for price of one gun!

The compact can do the same thing the full size can if it has mag extensions, and it can be shorter without them.
But for carry, width is generally a big deal, and both are as wide as the other....

I went with the MP40 Compact..to carry around. Seems 40 cal makes bigger holes and more damage. Not much price difference in ammo. I really need it for concealment though. Thanks all for your advise!

Recoil isn't really harsher - it's a bit snappier than 9mm, but not really noticeably so. .40 isn't really that much more expensive than 9mm if you buy in bulk - ammo prices at places like Wal-Mart...

A full-size M&P isn't a CCW gun - too big, unless you're built like Andre the Giant. Go with the compact .40 for CCW, or just pass if you're set on 9mm.
Also, a .40 has nearly the same magazine...

Perhaps the diodes are the same price--I honestly don't know, but given how costs decrease as production of almost anything increases, I think the greens laser diodes are probably a bit more...

About 10 minutes after I got the tracking email, my FFL said it was delivered. There's 2 clips, 3 grips (s,m,l), and a lock. No holster.
