You can use a tone generator and trace the tone from bulb to bulb until you lose it. The last bulb where you lose the tone is the bad one.

A few years ago they were offering the Craftsman 82314 Mini Digital Multimeter with Auto ranging, and a built-in Voltage Detector for about the same price. I wish I had bought several, a great meter.

I own an Equus 3320 and the readings are all over the place. Not accurate at all. I'm going to give the craftsman a try, plus it comes with the voltage detector which is a bonus.

lol, don't ever call Sears unless you have low blood pressure or you are a really big fan of blood pressure spikes. Even with 10% cash back and 20% off their gift cards I still rarely buy from...
