Yes, ni-mh rechargeable take high current draw really well. They will be brighter and more consistent on ni-mh AAs than alkaline C's.

It is not brighter.. it has a tighter spot so it throws further. So if you need to see farther away it is great. I like the floody ones for working in the attic and the backyard.
