Yes, it will record no problem. The Vixia records @ 24mbps, which is actually 3MB/s. This card can do roughly 100mbps (around 12.5MB/s)

Id rather get a confirmation from someone that this card can record video in MXP mode at 24mbps.. than to return the card if it doesn't work. But thanks anyway :D

Its fast enough...SanDisk is reliable most of the time on their speed readings compared to others. If not... try and return :-)

Question: I just bought the Canon Vixia HF R20. It says the MXP mode is 24mbps. Will a card like this work? or does it not write fast enough?

This Ultra 30MB/s gets 13MB/s write speed Read speed is 44MB/s Compare to Extreme 45MB/s which gets 46MB/s read and 44MB/s write

keep in mind, the "Class 10" industry standard speed is minimum for both read AND write, while the model class (Ultra 30MB/s) is maximum for read OR write (aka. read speed since that's almost always...
