Maybe so, but seeing was believing for me, and the sample images I saw were pretty darn impressive, regardless of ultrapixels/megapixels.

Ultrapixels is a gimmick that will never catch on. (Even of it does, there are no official specification and other manufacturers will never call it an "ultrapixel" so it will never catch on.) ...

I just bought a cheap (eligible) smart phone for 30 bucks on ebay to trade in for this deal. Chances are most people don't have a cheap smart phone lying around so that might be an option for you...

How does this confirm that paying full price makes you not eligible? Basically $100 off MSRP for sending in a crappy old phone (potentially). Could be worth it for people on prepaid/refusetosign.

Well, it's $100 for any phone that you send them. I just checked with old virgin mobile LG Optimus V and it showed $100. There's no way I would get $100 for that anywhere now :P
