Cash is cash whether you finance or spend it. Don't drop $1K on a TV, period. Either go smaller or get one on craigslist since TV's depreciate about 25-50% once used. Find 1 that is like 1 years...

You don't benefit any by carrying a balance on a credit card. Paying it in full at the end of each month is just as good.

Nah. It was a Sony TV. It wasn't a $500/off or interest free financing. My deal was $500 off + interest free financing + free 3d glasses.

do you think you might've gotten a better deal if you'd foregone the financing?

I see your point. It's okay to finance interest free if you have the savings already, and you want to cash in on some interest. What I was trying to say was too many people finance because they...

I don't understand your point about it being a headache. If you have 36 months interest free then you take the total balance, divide by 36 and set an automatic payment. Done! Where is the headache? ...

I understand financing interest free when buying a car because that is hard to pay cash for, but financing a tv is a real headache. It's just another monthly payment to worry about. Why not keep...
