Definitely, I always do this. I had one major f'up with g voice at one point and couldn't figure out why. Sat there trouble shooting and played with the settings on google voice and BAM. I'm set.

Why not have a controlled test where you get a family member/friend to text you using your GV number and see the results on your phone.

are you sure your google voice settings are correct? maybe they are forwarding the txts to your real number.

Sorry guess I didnt read correctly. I also only use my google number but not until many emails to feel the person out. Would really like to see this solved so I have an idea for the future.
