for me, it's just as easy... you don't really flip it, you stir it (while turning it of course). it's just one of those things americans do and don't question I guess.

For some things. Not near as easy to stir / flip food in which is why they use a wok in the first place. :) If I want to do a steak, then yes, I'll grab the cast iron skillet.

that wok is great especially for those that have electric oven at home. You can pre-heat it very nicely and quickly stir fly in high temp before the wok cools down.

It's mostly personal choice, but I do prefer enamel dutch ovens for acidic things like tomato sauce, because the acid can damage the seasoning.
But that's an edge case and the "damage" you can do...
