I love my new Focus but have also heard really good things about the Rockhopper. I would go with whichever you prefer. I don't think you could go wrong with either bike.

No idea about the quality of the pump itself, but I don't think it matters what kind of valves your bike has, because it's "Presta & Schrader Compatible".

Great bike! Came yesterday..the pedals are good enough for now..better then none at all. Just have to figure out how to attach the brakes properly...and buy a kickstand

No but you can sort of get used to it and ride in such a way that you're not bouncing around on the climbs.

Mine came with basic pedals. Maybe they throw it in as part of the "bronze assembly." Fwiw, I did order pedals and they're definitely better for me than the included ones. I wouldn't say to go get...
