I'm thinking of doing the same thing. Does the trade-in phone need to be a verizon phone? I have iPhone 4 from AT&T that I'm not using.

Did you end up doing this? I didn't know you could do the whole process online. How did it go? Any issues you ran into?

So, it should work fine for a phone that's on 2 year contract with Verizon, correct?
Thank you for your help in advance.

yes, still works for etf reimbursement, not for eip/dpp/edge reimbursement, which requires surrendering the device on the lease.

i have a chat record with T Mobile rep regarding this.
If i trade in a cracked phone, I will still get my ETF Paid off. May be i will not receive any credit towards the phone.

It doesn't have to be an AT&T phone. You just have to trade in any smartphone, broken or working. I'm not sure about bad ESN or stolen ones though.
