You will probably like the HE-400 more, but the DT880 is also good with EDM. Keep in mind the price gap, in which you will have the funds to purchase a DAC and Amp. I think the DT880 is faster,...

How does this compare to the HE-400 for playing EDM music? I like bass, treble, speed, and soundstage.

This headphone will work with any receiver, but it requires plenty of power to drive this 600ohm headphone. Even your smartphone will work with this headphone, but it will sound nasty. Just to...

I'm afraid not, the main purpose of a DAC is to convert digital signals from your phone/iPod / laptop into analog so you can feed those to an Amp or speakers. They provide clarity to the sound...

You can still place an order with amazon or wait till it's back in stock rather than buying from a third party. Personally Amazon price matched thrice on this HP.

Deal appears to be dead (now $349 via Amazon). Lowest price now shows up as $270 via Electronics Expo on Amazon's website.

Thanks, hopefully I'll find both 11 and 12 in local stores to compare, then buy one. Just not convinced to spend over $100 just for an amp:-)

the 990 is like a more extreme version of the 880. They both have emphasis in the bass and especially treble frequency ranges. i recommend the 880s, esp if you've never had a beyerdynamic HP. a lot...
