According to your profile you should be able to upload a custom avatar. You are sure that the image is within the parameters regarding size?

There are other option for new members than just celery, if you go into your profile setting and edit your avatar you will see other option, you just can't upload a custom one yet. ...

I hate being a N00bs at anything. Sigh....
How do I get rid of the celery avatar? I'll take anything over celery. I'm actually allergic to celery. Looking at it gets me a tad itchy already.

Yeah, that's definitely a good suggestion and something we've got on our list. It certainly isn't clear enough now that new users don't have avatar upload permissions. :)

It's celery... quite a back story for that one actually.
