I bought this deal to upgrade from me pretty awful basic old router. I have had it installed for a few days now and I just love it so much. Also I have to say that its parental control features have...

Are you sure you bought it in 2007? 802.11n was not released until 2009. You mostly likely have a g-speed or or super g-speed router. signal interruptions... if you're trying to say that...

This is just a guess... The N66W probably has the default ip, 192.168.1.1, but you computer has an ip address on th192.168.0.x subnet because your main router is on that subnet. You need to assign...

Has anyone used this router as an access point. I typed in ipconfig and it sees the default gateway as 192.168.0.1 but when I try to access that on my browser with the internet disconnected, I get...

I don't want to argue, but I have to say what I feel is true. If you disagree, it's a free country. If you feel I'm wrong, state your case. Folks who just state their opinion with no foundation...

I might yes. Depends on price and what folks need. I would agree that folks should do their own research, Caveat emptor, but not everyone knows where to look or how to interpret the information.

Agree, it's accurate to say 5GHz will show better performance at range with an AC router. But since 5GHz won't cover my house, I'd be using 2.4GHz anyway, or the 802.11N side of the AC router. To...

Wrong. There is no extra performance benefit at range, in fact is WORSE. AC uses 5ghz band which has a terrible time passing though walls. Please stop propagating this complete nonsense.

I agree. AC describes a whole range of routers which are always improving. The N side of routers isn't even part of the AC standard, that is still the 802.11N standard. AC is the standard for a...

For a guy who claims he is NOT a networking guru, you sure do like to run off at the mouth. An AC router is not worth it if lapob doesn't have AC compatible devices. :rolleye2:

It's all relative. RT-AC68U USB performance is still 3x of the RT-AC66U so I think my statement holds true. But as you say, the RT-AC68P is over 2x that of the RT-AC68U which I didn't realize so...
