it is. They were cheaper last year. We haven't seen that 249 price point in a long time. They keep hovering around $300 to 320

wonder why they never do current K series i7 for $199.99 again i remember buying i7 4770k in Oct-November 2013 4 months after launch guess they lost a lot of money.

6700k. the 5820k has 4 more threads, but:
8 threads is totally sufficient for nearly all tasks
5820k requires an x99 chipset, which is easily another $100 for a MoBo, and locks you in to...

I think the 4790K is the only one lower than Microcenter's usual low price ($310). The 5820K price is the same as always and the 6800K is new
