I have one of these and you cannot pick ANYTHING up that has ANY weight without the ends of them bending, causing you to drop what you were trying to pick up. Not recommended.

The locking mechanism/hanger on the back end is silicone covered. Guessing that's what they are referring to though it is a bit misleading.

nice tongs but the rubber piece on the back comes off pretty easily. I'd recommend not running it through the dish washer if you care about it. I just threw the rubber piece away.
