This price seems to be fluctuating quite frequently as I bought it last night for $9.89 and it went to $10.10 immediately after. Then it went $9.91, back to $9.89, and now it's up to the $12.39...

The pics of keys are probably from boxes, cd/dvd/blu-ray slip covers or key cards. If they had to type all of them out manually it would take time and cost money which gets passed on to the consumer....

I don't think you're asking the right question man; yes, technically you don't have to "install" this version, but you do have to enter the key into your steam library before the new version comes...
