Sure, if you never travel (or maybe once every 5 years or something) stick to cash back, it's the best you can do outside of travel.
But even then 2% is only good for "general" non-category...

The purchase doesn't need to be travel.
The reward is travel.
For example my internet and cell bills go on a card that gives me 5 UR points per dollar...

if you travel then travel cards are always better- no reason to have the CB card at all since it always offers an inferior amount of return.

I went in branch and they did not offer 70K, just the 50k. But they do have a 100K black sapphire card with a 450 annual fee. That benefit is really nice for those who travel 4-5 times a year.
