it honestly doesn't matter to me how it connects. My PC has both options. And I don't care how its powered lol. I don't need surround sound because I don't want more wires behind my desktop as it is.

Thanks for the suggestion. But she hates headphones of any kind. If she would just wear her hearing aid for example, she'd be able to hear the TV.
