I recommend the Tamron personally (we have both). IMO I like the color of it more, it's much lighter and I like that all the tamron lenses can use the same filters (or at least I think so)

For "3D Pop" what is your suggestions? TIA
That's coming from someone who owns milvus and Otus lenses, my main lens? 35mm 1.4 g-master. Surely I'm missing out on something right? The point is if you are lacking in the essentials of photography, no amount of "3D pop" will save you.
I would get this tamron lens for its versatility, say you shoot pics of your daily life and don't mind the bulk, the focal range and relatively fast 2.8 is ideal especially coupled with your Sony ISO performance.
I would NOT get this lens because of its focusing issues. Any lens maker that sells you a dock so you can adjust the focusing, it's like they anticipate it shipping with these issues. With that said, I still use my old canon dslr extensively and my favorite lens is actually the tamron sp 35. I've had to fiddle with its back focusing issues many times over but when it nails focusing, it produces great images.
I think sigma has really pushed the boundaries of what a 3rd party lens can do with their art lenses and for a while there, they left Tamron in the dust but tamron has caught up and IMHO have surpassed Sigma.
