Deal has returned - $2 per 2 cubic foot bag. Expires May 1.

YMMV as it appears to be location based. All the stores near me (Delaware) are $2. My local store said out of stock online, but they had two pallets in stock.

this mulch is awful. It's chopped up pallet wood. The chunks of wood are large so coverage is inconsistent, and the color fades quickly. I know 2/bag seems like a deal but if you need more than a yard you are better off getting it in bulk from a landscaping company,
I see $3.33.
When you put it down, make sure no rain in forecast and dont get it wet for a few days. Once it dries out from the bag it should be good to go and keep color for a long time. The big mistake most people make is putting out before rain or throw out preen and water it down first day. This will wash the color away. Let it sunbake new out of bag and will be a huge difference.

Thank you! I screwed up and showed up to HD today hoping to get the 5 for $10 deal or whatever it was and realized I was a day late...Almost just said screw it but you came through with this!
$2 for all colors in Severn, MD Lowes

The HD is much better mulch. I was using Lowe's for years and got sick of finding nails and trash in the mulch.

The bag shows a 12 month color guarantee. I put some of this down a couple of weeks ago and a lot of it has no dye remaining. I wonder exactly what & how this guarantee is administered?

This is probably cheaper than buying in bulk (by yard) for most folks. Around me it's $35 plus per yard in bulk and this price is $27 per yard.

I just bought this in black two weeks ago. After watering the beds the first time, about half the color washed off of the mulch, and you could see a lot of the wood's natural color.

I ended up going to Home Depot, which is currently selling 5 for ten bags of black mulch to cover up the mulch from Lowes. I hope their brand's color lasts longer.

This may be local to the batch Houston stores got, but I would advise you to stay away from the Lowes 2-dollar mulch if you are looking to have colored beds.

It says it has a 12-month color guarantee, but I am not sure how to act on that. I bought 40 bags.

Please don't call this mulch, it's 'forest product'. It's literally just ground up garbage they throw in a wood shipper.

The HD mulch is much better, the color is better and lasts longer.

These bags only make sense if you only need a small amount of mulch (and even then, I'd still recommend using un-dyed hardwood mulch). Otherwise, buy in bulk from a local supplier. Or if you need a lot of mulch and free sounds good, use ChipDrop. https://getchipdrop.com/

This is pretty much it. I put some down last year and let it dry out for several days before watering it and it has held its color for over a year despite California's recent historic rains.
