FYI dellrefurbished.com is not the same as the Dell Outlet site that sells used, open box, and refurb units. This site is owned and operated by Dell Financial Services and these are off-lease devices that likely were used for 3-5 years. Dell Outlet has been wonderful for me for over a decade (but no recent purchases)- same MFG warranty as new. Dell refurbished is just Dell's financial arm's way of dumping old PCs onto the public directly instead of selling to refurbishing companies (that then put them up on eBay).

DELLs are crappy. They have worst Touch pads. And they fail right after the 1 year warranty.
Anything with touchscreen and Hinges are a NO-NO.

Based on this I cancelled. The last one I bought was from Dell Outlet. Didn't realize that there was this difference.

Are you talking about their consumer line? Latitudes are business focused and are more reliable and repairable than the consumer versions. We have thousands of them at work, various different models, and I can assure they aren't all dying at one year.

I've bought 3 laptops and a desktop from the Dell Refurbished site and I've been extremely pleased with all of them. I bought a couple to give to relatives as presents (thank you presents), and a couple for myself. I bought the last laptop intentionally with no OS, then upgraded the ram & storage to be my Linux system. Total cost was less than $150 and it looks great, runs great, etc.

I would consider another, but I'm sitting in front of 5 computers now. Another one and I may wind up divorced even if it is a tax write-off.

As compared to what? Apple is the only really solid laptop on the market and that is a completely different machine.

I wasn't judging with my comment, just wanted people to understand the difference of this site versus the generally popular and well received Dell Outlet. There are probably some good deals here, even the one posted, but make sure your expectations are accurate

For $307 after the coupon, it'd be quite silly to insure this thing - just buy two and you literally spend the same $15/month over 2 years. That said, this is Windows 10 Pro, the only Operating System you should actually want in today's market (it's not a chromebook and it's not broken-ass incomplete Windows 11 that's just stuffed with ads and bloatware). It's an i7 and while it's onboard graphics, those 32 GB of RAM will take care of most of the heavy lifting with video files (RAM holds and transfers the files in whole and the CPU graphics can chunk through the file as fast as its able versus older or less capable systems getting bottlenecked with all the switching between CPU accepting the file and CPU digesting and outputting the contents). There is no reason why this machine wouldn't be perfect for most business/home users who aren't heavily gaming or doing graphics/heavy processing and aren't daily required to wait for these intensive processes to complete. If you aren't using graphics programs beyond InkScape and Gimp, you should be absolutely fine. In for one and happy to share any specific details.
