It was $185 at Newegg for about a day before this. I think Amazon changes their prices to meet or beat their competitors. Crafty!

What kind of cooler do I need for this? My wraith cooler from 2600x won't really work with this, would it?

If temps are a concern, get the 5700x
If you are doing any productivity work, video/photo compiling ect along with gaming, get the 5900x.
If neither is of any major concern, get this one.

Better off getting the 5800x3d bundle for $320 and selling the mobo and ram and your old cpu

Thanks for the advice, but I didn't want a new motherboard. Just getting a CPU for 175$ was what I needed.

I got the peerless assassin for around 35$. From what I heard, it was considered pretty good for that price range.

But you could have a 5800x3d for $175, I get it though. I'm in the same boat and I'm lazy but I think I could sell my 2700x, ram and mobo for $150.

This or the 5700x3d for $229? I'm mainly going to be gaming and I've heard the 3D versions are the way to go but I'm unsure about the 5700x3d

So funny story. I actually got the 5800X3D price matched with this deal. So, I always wanted the X3D, but I missed this was just the X, the microcenter manager missed it, and the person I submitted the ticket through the microcenter website missed the difference. So, all's well that ends well?
