Surprisingly, this model was never on sale before this, as much as I could search through SD. Compared to a similarly spec'd Legion Pro 5, it has a better display, is lighter and has a bigger battery. The LP5 has better port selection and a higher wattage 4070 (140W vs 125W).

The RAM is upgradeable.
Unfortunately, this model has not been properly reviewed so far. But according to one review, it's a refresh of the Triton 300 SE from last year with a few upgrades; the RAM on that could be easily upgraded by removing the nine star-bit screws of the bottom panel, which hides two SO-DIMM slots, two M.2 Type-2280 drive slots. So, I reckon it would not be any different on this, but don't quote me on that lol.

Yes, Triton 300 SE was a good laptop for its time. Triton is Acer's premium gaming laptop lineup.

Lenovo motherboards also have a habit of dying after a couple years

Interestingly this has a higher MSRP than the 14" mini led model on sale for $1250 but I think I'd rather have this given the upgradable ram and two m.2 slots

First was a yoga. Battery started only lasting about a half hour, tried replacing it, lease no difference, so some kind of power supply issue

Second was a legion 5. Likely motherboard failure... Worked perfectly then one day decided it wouldn't boot at all- just flashes a light then gives up.

It's from 3 years in the future. The good doctor putting the TARDIS to good use. There's no when he won't go to get us a slick deal.
