Math:
6.61¢/g Protein - Orgain Plant Blend (Pea > Rice) [amazon.com]
  • Price: $13.98 for 1 lbs.
  • Unknown % of Protein is Leucine
  • 45.7% of mass is Protein
  • 56% of calories are Protein

Quite pricey. If you absolutely love this flavor, and really need to be vegan, non-gmo, and organic, you might buy this.

That said, you can easily get whey for half the price and pea protein for 1/3 the price.

Problem is that whey is lactose. I believe would be a fair comparison with unflavored protein pea itself.
Me and others with serious gastric issues can't manage whey protein at all.

Orgain is cheaper at Costco, isn't it? Right now they have $8 off.

Yes, I just bought a 2.64lb for $27.99 in store. That's right around $10.60 per pound. OP not really a deal unless you don't have Costco.

Whey isolate can be tolerated by a lot of folks with lactose intolerance. It's more expensive than whey concentrate or whey blends, but still less than Orgain as measured by cost per gram of protein.

If you want to go unflavored:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0C35LNMRF

Super-inexpensive, fewer carbs/fats/fillers. Less than 1/3 the price per gram of protein.

But, it is unflavored. It works well in smoothies, soups, oatmeal, and baked goods. Not great as a simple mix-with-water-or-milk shake - gritty.

Sam's club 9.84$ / pound
Amazon 10.51$ / pound (with the S&S + 25% coupon on the 2.03lbs one)

Dang it, everything Nestle touches turns to shite. And I just started liking this brand after not have any stomach issues and the flavors are fairly decent.
