These don't illuminate much... its more like a night light. You won't be able to sit under it and read, but one can make out the closer surroundings.
They come with a fairly complex remote control, but I have yet to figure out how to get that to communicate with the lamp. The "manual" is a one pager with some obvious hints ("Do not dispose of old batteries in household waste" etc), but no mention of a remote. So that's odd. It's almost as if the remote doesn't belong to the lamp.
