The answer is simple and based on whether you want a convertible/IPS touchscreen or a clamshell laptop with OLED display.

Hey there my fellow deal-hunter! I recently snagged the non-OLED version of this laptop for a pretty sweet deal at Micro Center - only $1100! But, I just found out that there's an open-box excellent OLED version available at Best Buy for $1400. I'm a bit torn - is the OLED really worth the extra $300? I've heard some concerns about burn-in, but I'm not planning on buying a warranty. What do you think - should I stick with my current laptop or return it and upgrade to the OLED?

IMO - I have and hate the OLED because it is glossy. Matte is the most important feature for me, I cannot for the life of me understand why someone would want a glossy laptop. I have the 15X and would gladly sell it to you just to get rid of it.

Yes. It is absolutely a game changer. The thing you use 100% of the time is the screen. Everything just looks more vibrant and visible. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. OLED toasts micro led as well. Side by side real world, OLED looks luxurious to anything else. 120 refresh is a massive bonus. Smooth scrolling with OLED brightness and color accuracy?

I will never buy or rec any laptop without a premium screen (which aren't expensive anymore)

How is the heat and fan sound on this one? Also are the hinges better than a few years ago?

Wouldn't say that "OLED toasts" Nebula HDR mini LED. They're certainly comparable. OLED does have faster response rates at .3ms vs 3ms but the SBS of each seems fairly close. There are advantages to the mLED too. They can get brighter, can be more color accurate, don't suffer from burn in...
