Before buying this laptop, please take into consideration there is anecdotal evidence that multiple variants of this laptop series have a design defect with placement or ventilation of a lid switch (a sensor for sleep mode and hibernation),which result in a black screen of death

What is not clear is whether this variant being sold by Micro Center is affected is immune from the problem. I found some conclusory postings, without any supporting information or explanation, that says it is not -
