I don't know how most Big Lots stores are still open. Their parking lots are always so empty. It's one of those stores that I jokingly ask if it's a front for something else.

And alot of stuff is more than that. Our store is horrible about marking things that are over 1.50 and you only find out at the register that something you thought was 1.50 is in fact 3.00. We used to hit it up for cheap snacks while on the run but now Walmart, target, and even dollar general beat them on prices of low cost items. Also $tree has a lot of products that they order in special sizes (smaller than the standard to fit that pricing). I haven't stepped foot in one since they went to 1.25. They are poorly run and not as great of a value as they portray.
They also simply carry less stuff from other stores and per ounce I would say a majority of their foods are a higher price per ounce than walmart's daily prices. It's just a trap for those already poor.

Where and when did this happen?
I cannot find anything that is not $1.25 at Dollar Tree.
Some of the Brillo cleaning products seem like a good deal for a dollar.
I also buy that brand of spring water and whenever I can find it for a dollar I stock up.

How is that a deal?
Some of these items are everyday pricing and many even overpriced.
