Yeah. That's a super no-no. If it peels, whatever chemical byproducts it made is definitely mixing with the food.
For sure. Unfortunately, Wood sucks anyways no? I've always wanted to use it, because it's natural and won't scratch cookware coatings as much.,, but its porous so it absorbs color, smell, and most importantly bacteria right?

Food grade mineral oil can kill bacteria since it can suffocate germs and bacteria. Wash, dry, and oil.
Saying, w how busy we all are…instead of all the bs maintenance, at that point why not just use something else like silicone?
