very bad review in Reddit. Shady practice. Very difficult to port out. It was suggested to avoid lycamobile.

I work for Lyca and I can tell you that this is incorrect. No issues with port out or port in. The customer just needs their pin which they can get by calling customer service.

I'm thinking of giving LM a go at these prices.

I figure since their main business money laundering, they can afford to be a little cheaper than everyone else at $7.50/mo. I wouldn't pay them $15/mo though - that's just normal MVNO pricing, in line with Mint and others.

Can you provide a more reliable source than reddit (the cesspool of all that may or may not be true)? Perhaps a mainstream news outlet, consumer magazine/organization?

Not saying this isn't true (it very well may be), but reddit is hardly a reputable source.

I can't find an ACSI customer sat rating on Lycamobile, but some budget MVNOs do very well, including Tracfone and Mint.

Is this plan going to work in Europe (UK, Ireland, Spain etc) with no extra cost?

Not correct. They gave me very hard time at the time of port out. I used it for my secondary phone which I barely make or receive any calls. They insisted me to provide frequent number I dial in without that they did not provide my account number and pin. I had to wait 3 days and dial in numbers to record my frequent dial in numbers into their system

No, roaming costs extra. The countries you listed had a minimum of a 10¢ charge for just receiving SMS from the USA, though receiving SMS from a country while roaming in that country was free. Third doesn't even touch on data, but I doubt that's included.

Frankly, cheaper to just remove your SIM while traveling and picking up a local plan, like with EE, Three, or Vodafone, which all have service in the countries you mentioned, and you'll probably less than $20 for a month of nearly unlimited high speed data.

Here's the roaming info for LM:

Stay away from Lyca. They are bad. They hold on to your number when asked to port out. I had to take help of FCC to get my number back. They are fraud.

Links are working fine at this time. Perhaps a vpn or location issue.

I can confirm that. Actually, port out was much easier, then port-in (which is weird for me). I was only asked about couple most dialed numbers from my phone, but my answer satisfied the customer support and immediately account number and pin were provided. Port-in took several hours and I didn't have a service during that time. On the second line it was pretty fast
