Given that the cheapest approximate alternative is $2504 this is a very good deal - https://www.apmex.com/product/280...-ornaments
The cheapest cheapest Eagles are currently $2479 - or about $10 more, and not in an assay, random year, random condition etc. - https://www.apmex.com/product/1/1...andom-year
Then add the Costco Gold Membership 2% back + Costco Citibank 2% back. So - yeah, it is a good deal!

FYI check your rewards. Costco VISA card will no longer give 2% on bullion purchases. Check the Place Order page to confirm.
Interesting, just verified this as well. Now states $9 back when using Costco Citi for me
But even with 0% discounts the price is still better than the competitors. Even the lowest-quality equivalent is still more expensive than that.
Bottom line - I think it is still at least "a good deal" (if not "great deal").
From when?
I've paused my purchases until this clears up. No way I am buying at these prices with only 2% back. I think Citi is bleeding money left and right Lol

My guess is it stems from their category change to collectibles after they accidentally gave jewelry discounts on the coins.
Anyone who has talked to a Costco rep will know that company is a dumpster fire hiding behind membership fees.

I mean even for Buffalo coin Costco is adding tax which is exempt in MN. Original comment - https://slickdeals.net/f/17471253-costco-2024-1-oz-american-buffalo-gold-coin-2389-99?p=170677062#
