Joe's New Balance Outlet[joesnewbalanceoutlet.com] has New Balance Men's NYC Marathos FuelCell SuperComp Elite v3 Running Shoes (Standard, Wide) on sale for $128.79 (in-cart price). Shipping is free.
I just used these for training/running a half marathon. Worked very well for me and it's worth noting that wide sizes in "supershoes" are rare at any price point. You'll see mixed reviews on this shoe, but mine fit and feel great in my usual race size (12.5 2e).
Link? If it expired, then this is slick as it's more expensive anywhere else.
The point is the SCE3 has been on sale from Sierra for $80 multiple times. Just last week they had a few of the women's sizes available at that price. The deal comes and goes frequently. Fact is, this is a crap shoe at $128 or above because it has an EVA midsole and every respectable marathon racer has PEBA or TPEE. The upper around the ankle bone also has a reputation of causing chaffing and blistering.

99.9% of us are not respectable marathon racers. EVA is a great option for daily trainers and most affordable of the 3, and this shoe is no different. I have this shoe and have no complaints.

I was referring to shoes, not people. Educate yourself on foams. EVA is a 4 decade old foam that is susceptible to compression set, lacks rebound, and hardens in cold temperatures.
New Balance positions the SCE3 as a "marathon racer" and prices it accordingly at $230. The SCE3 must be compared to other shoes in its category. From an objective standpoint the SCE3 is bottom barrel. It does not have a PEBA/TPE midsole foam, a standard feature for a marathon racer.

I understand what EVA is and know that this shoe is supercritical EVA. Also, appreciate you providing the MSRP, but I compare it to what I can actually get it for.
