It's a rather rare occurrence but can happen. The good thing about Nintendo Switch games is that you can easily see if a cartridge is in the case before opening it by simply shining a light inside and looking from the bottom edge.
I am a huge fan of the original Super Mario RPG on the SNES and this remake is an absolute delight. Between the Link's Awakening remake and this, Nintendo basically found the best way to re-release games from the 90s so that they're modernized but without losing their charm. I'd love to see more games get their treatment... Super Mario World, Super Metroid, A Link to the Past.
Digital games are best for games where you constantly pick up and play and/or play for short time periods. Think of a game like Tetris. You wouldn't want to manually load a cartridge every time. You want to just quickly go to it and play. Sports, racing games, puzzle games. Other digital games that are good are ones that lose their value since you won't sell anyways. Mario and Zelda, you play thru a game start to finish in longer plays. They hold their value over time. Physical is best for those.
Mario rpg isn't a game you play constantly. You play, beat it, decide you want to sell and get 75% of your money back OR hold forever and play again later. You won't casually randomly say "I'll play Mario rpg for 20 mins then not play it for 2 months. The game cartridge sits in the slot. Mario Kart on the other hand is a game I find to be helpful digitally since I play it more frequently.

They should do a Link to the past combo with a Link between worlds!!! What an amazing adventure.

I agree. But honestly I don't think you can top perfection. Those three in particular are the very best entries of their respective franchises IMO.
Purchased the game from Amazon last month from the official seller, received a **sealed** box with no cartridge in it. Looked it up, found that this is not actually rare and happened to many people -- in some cases many times a year, and from other retailers like Walmart as well. Never had similar issues with xbox discs though. Not sure I can feel comfortable buying physical Switch game again

Sealed via shrink wrap or cigarette wrap? Shrink wrap is the red flag.
Good price point.
Don't expect anything less than $35 by BF 2024. Nintendo won't allow it EVER lol
Groupon has non-ESRB copies available (they were produced outside of the U.S.) for $35.
Gamefly currently is offering like-new copies of the game (which is U.S./ESRB) for $35.
The only thing is that you also have about $3-4 extra to tack on for shipping.
So all things considered, getting an ESRB (U.S.) copy for around $43 is a nice deal.
