Thinking about ordering one to have shipped directly to the Pacific Ocean.

That would eliminate months of leaky frustration, with it ending up in my trash bin. Then cutting out the trip to our local landfill, and its further voyage to some far-east "recycle" center. Where it ultimately ends up in the same place.

Good price though!

Get one with brass male connectors will reduce leakage if that happen, my had brass on connectors it is free leaks 3 or 4 years already, with freeze and 100 degrees in texas

It Compares like 1/5 of the price. Usually you get what you pay for. Gorillas going to be tough leak free and superior. It depends on your need and how often you use your hose. You want to buy a forever hose real that will last and don't mind spending extra then go for the gorilla.

I agree... assuming the Gorilla actually does live up to its name, I have a couple of these cheaper Suncast or similar plastic hose reels/carts and parts on them have broken or snapped off due to the plastic becoming brittle. I wouldn't expect the all-plastic carts that last very long. If you are able to keep this in a mostly shaded and or covered spot (or maybe in a shed or garage) that would probably help prolong its lifetime but if you plan to leave it outside especially in a spot that sees a lot of sun, it'll likely deteriorate very quickly.

I purchased a similar hose reel from ace hardware recently. I know it's cheap so I store it in the garage to avoid sun damage. Hope it helps the longevity, Fingers crossed.

Basically you get what you pay for. I just scrapped a metal version I bought maybe 10 years ago. Why did I scrap it? One of the wheels was seized - the water works was just fine. If I had paid more attention to maintenance I'd probably still have it.
