Why not just buy a used one on FB Marketplace? I just did a quick search, and see older models for less than half price. Someone in my tri-borough area is listing a THULE 669ES for $325 in great condition. Could prob get him to $280 with minimal effort.
Last February or so had them at my Costco around $450 i think.
