    Thanks OP. I ordered one and let me see if I can keep it. I've always had problems connecting two monitors on my work computer as I can't install drivers. Usually for USB 3.0 based docs need drivers install unless it's included by default in Windows.

    Solid deal. I picked one of these up for my wife to use with her MB Air M1 so she could still hook up her dual monitors at her desk. Does need the DisplayLink software installed and it requires allowing some permissions that Mac OS makes sound a little scary but that does seem to be the only way to do it now. It does come with a USB-C adapter to use on the MacBook. Only real downside is no power while using.

    Regular price seems ridiculous for this. If you need dvi and multiple USB 3 I guess this is a good deal. It looks like it also requires power from 12v DC.

    If all you need is multi monitor HDMI and some extra USB ports there are better options that are usually around this price in a much smaller design.

    That's a problem of none PD port, It seems a 5 years old dock. No one want to plug another power cable and make the table mess unless if it is cheaper than those or in need.

    Maybe add more budget to the traditional USB C HUB if you want plug and play.

    That's is going to be a USB-C dock with DisplayPort Alt mode. Something completely different from what this is. The dual display will only works on PCs with DisplayPort MST support and not Macs. Macs will only support a single external monitor. If you use both port they will mirror each other. It's also limited by the number of displays your PC supports.

    This is DisplayLink which is basically using a pair of USB video cards. That allows it to use more monitors than the computer would otherwise. As I mentioned I'm using it with a M1 Air which only supports a single external display natively but handles 2 monitors with this dock.

    If your laptop can support a proper USB-C or Thunderbolt dock that's probably a better option even if it costs more. If you need a dock to add more monitors than it would normally support or a dock that will work any USB port without needing Thunderbolt or DisplayPort Alt Mode then this is the dock for you.
