Yeah, it's pretty fun; I feel like it captures real street skateboarding well. I haven't played the Skate series, but it seems similar to it with more technical stick movements and button timing required.
It's fairly easy to start and get used to ollies and simple flip tricks around the cities, but the real challenge is completing missions and failing combos over and over again when you swear you're doing it correctly. But once you land it, it feels awesome.. so it's kinda like real skating in that sense.
I'd definitely give it a try at $12. I've put several hours into it, but I wouldn't pay full price unless you're dying for a game that simulates skating via controller.

I played the old Tony Hawk Underground 2 game on GameCube. Been playing that on an emulator recently and it's been a blast. If this doesn't have any kind of extras to it outside of just endlessly skating I think I may just stick with the classics
