Some info:
Crafted in Indonesia (in the Samick plant... this is a gooood thing, those folks know what they're doin)
*real* bone nut, *excellent* necks, and though divisive I actually prefer these Samick-made "fender inspired" pickups they're putting in the range to the fender pickups they're emulating (They aren't the cleanest sounding, but who tf is playing clean these days.... Eric Clapton ig lol)
...hardware is.... okayish. I have the Jazzmaster, and a Jazz Bass from this series... and I haven't had any real issues with either bridge, but the tuners on the J bass leave a bit to be desired.
Also worth noting that if you go in to shield it, you're probably going to have some cleanup to do in the cavities first.
Both my copies had a perfect neck pocket, but a friend of mine got a P-Bass after seeing mine, and had to reset the neck because there was a bit too much paint in the joint.
None of these reasons would keep me from recommending these instruments. Fantastic price TU.

A couple things I forgot to mention-
Fretwork is good, my j bass and my buddy's p bass had perfect crowning on our fretwires, on my jazzmaster I had to recrown 2 wires, that had microscopic knicks in them (which caused some buzz)
As far as shipping (if they're new... they're new right? lol) Squier has in fact learned their lesson over the years... they are well packed in a braced box, and they'll come set up well enough that you can more than likely just tune it and play, if you don't wanna fuss with it.

They must have raised the price. I don't see anything around that after factoring the coupon.
Now they're $149.99.
So because they're on sale, they raised the price, and now cost more than they did before the sale. Nice move.
In the end all that matters is that, you're right on Crafted in Indonesia fender stuff (squier, guild) being very very good.
