Just wanted to add while this is the best deal so far for trading in S8 Ultra, the difference between the two is minimal.

The main change is the chipset which is more efficient so you are potentially looking at slightly better battery life but most other things are very minor. One benefit of this "upgrade" is that you get a fresh 1 year warranty. Now, whether $200 is enough to justify the improved processing and battery along with a new 1-year warranty is up to you.

For me, it is not worth it.
I upgraded from s8u to s9u in November (trade-in was $700 then). I should have just kept the 8... I've seen no meaningful benefit to the upgrade. Also, battery life is down significantly... same usage patterns with both units. S8u would run for 2-2.5 days between charges. S9 barely lasts a day (usually down to 18-20% by night).
I agree, but also the fact that this does not include the keyboard case like the S8 Ultra did when I purchased it is another factor for me as well.

Just got my 512GB S9 Ultra 2 weeks ago, paid $375 for it after trading in a Galaxy Tab S8 for $700 credit and EPP discount as well. It's such a beast, definitely a large and heavy tablet but beautiful screen.

So buy an open box for $450 trade in is $650. Making new table $150. Regular S9.

it will be $450+$150 = 600 for regular S9
and just for another $50 more you can get S9 Ultra with more ram and bigger storage.

I'd say the opposite for me. I upgraded in September with the bundle trade in deal from here so the upgrade for me was $3.79 to go from the S8U 256gb to the S9U 512gb and the battery life is better. With my S8U the moment it went to 15% the battery wouldn't last more than 5 minutes before it got to zero. My S9U doesn't have that issue and the battery life is consistent the whole way. While the upgrade isn't significant paying a few bucks for a higher storage, a newer model and a consistent battery drainage sold it for me.

Lol I'd be stuck with my fancy s8u case and keyboard if I did this trade in, sigh*..

Meh not worth the water resistant rating upgrade.
