This can only cool a max of 36 degrees f below ambient. So if it is 80 degrees ambient, your cans will cool to a max of 44 degrees but that is max and most likely they would be ~50.
Not a fridge, thermoelectric cooler
On top of what the other guy said; thermoelectric coolers are meant to be *coolers*. A fridge will cool down hot and warm things to cold quickly and effectively; these thermoelectric coolers will take a very long time to cool something to below ambient in comparison. They can also eat up more electricity than a fridge would, as refridgerators are generally crazy power-effiecint, and these coolers run 24/7.

These are perfect to place in a kid's room so that they can grab their cans of pop and water from the fridge and toss them in their cooler, so that they don't have to keep running back and forth. They just might run up your electric bill a bit more, and make sure your kid knows they can't be putting food in it.

Interesting. Just how inefficient are these things? Are we talking about adding $100 to your electric bill every year, or is it not that bad (considering it's a pretty small device)?

Edit: I did a search for similar products, and this thermoelectric mini fridge (https://www.uberappliance.com/pro...ini-fridge) only uses 50-60 watts, so it's not that bad.

Just throwing this out there, but I think these are awesome as decorations more so than their intended use case as coolers. You can turn the lights on independently of the cooling function, and just place random small things inside as miscellaneous storage.

probably higher cost to operate if comparing to a refrigerator of equal size, inefficient vs a regular refrigerator, and limited cooling temperature capabilities

edit: sorry, didn't see the replies to your question

When I woke up this morning I had no idea that I needed to know what a thermal electric cooler was..... But it was exactly what I needed to learn!

🥂 Cheers

Have this and the creeper model. My kid loves it. It may not cool food like a traditional refrigerator but it looks pretty awesome in his minecraft themed room.

Knowing it's not actually a fridge, I still bought the creeper one for $20. My kids are going to love it, even if they only use it for the lights.

At 55w, if for example it's active half the day and your electricity cost is the average (17 cents per kwh) then that's $41 a year!
