Not a bad short story, ties in with the Cosmere, of course. Works very well as a stand-alone though if you don't want to dive in to another 15-20 books and short stories.

I find Sanderson's prose is good (I swear, the fantasy space seems to attract people that really can't write a full sentence), and his storytelling better than competent. Where he shines is creative magic systems.

I really enjoyed this one. It's set on the same world as Elantris. You can also find it in the Arcanum Unbound along with Edgedancer and tons of his other stories.

Note, this is part of the Arcanum Unbounded book as well. It's a collection of Sanderson short stories that many of us have bought previously due to it being a Kindle sale item as well. Make sure not to double dip!

That said, Brandon is a fantastic author. If you like fantasy at all, I recommend giving his stuff a try.
