I'd posted this before, but stock did not last long. These are basically a Japanese high quality copy of the
Knipex Bowden cable cutters [amazon.com] which sell for $33, now. I know this about the "normal" price for these, but given what they are, the fact that they are Made in Japan by Tsunoda, and the Knipex version now sells for over $30 - I just think even at the regular price of $15, they're an outstanding deal.
- Cutting Capacity : Iron wire rope φ0.16-inch (4mm) / Stainless wire rope φ0.12-inch (3mm)
- Cutting wire rope cleanly, without becoming loose.
- One-action unlock system loaded.
- Ready to use with single grasping after taking up from the tool sack.
- Made in Japan.

These things can't typically be seen by the consumer in new tools, but may show after months/years of use. That being said, unless there're some in-depth long-term reviews comparing the two, there's really no way for us plebes to know what differences there actually are, if any.
The country of origin for the knipex bowden cutters are japan apparently according to the technical details. Wow learn something new everyday .I wouldn't be surprised if these are the same ones. Tsunoda is a quality brand.
Went with the 9" model which at $25.86 was still less than half price
of a comparable Knipex version.
