The price on this is dropping like a rock. I paid $40 the other day for a copy. The art is incredible but the game is really just another Far Cry type shooter. Still the graphics are pretty amazing on PS5 and I assume it would be the same on Series X

The narrative "just another Far Cry" is so tired and means little. It feels extremely different than Far Cry 6. Yes. it's an open world action-adventure game. No it doesn't feel like an open world FPS, no it doesn't have nearly the constant enemies on the map, no the world feels nothing like Far Cry.

Yes the story is a bit shallow, yes the graphics are incredible. Yes you'll probably eat it up if you're an Avatar fan.

This game will keep dropping. It's a Ubisoft game, they over ship games and then copies just sit for years. This will be $10 somewhere before the end of the year.

Bought this when it was on sale a while back. Was initially wowed by the visuals but the missions were tedious. Taking out larger enemy bases required near perfect stealth and any error usually resulted in having to start over. It wasn't long before I lost interest in playing and traded it in.

I received it for free earlier this year, and played about 5 hours worth.

I get the Far Cry comparison. I'm not a fan of the movies, and had no interest in the lore of this game/universe.

On the flip side, I have played every Far Cry game, thoroughly. This game absolutely feels like a DLC alien world expansion for Far Cry. If you skip the cut scenes, it's essentially just clearing out bases, some light exploration. My wife, who isn't really interested in either Far Cry or Avatar, watched me play for a few minutes and said "this looks like that Far Cry game that you used to play, but with blue arms."

Having said that, if you enjoy Far Cry, you may enjoy this too- just didn't click for me.

This is just Far Cry: Avatar. It's very pretty, but extremely repetitive. I beat it and then sold it to a friend for $20 and he ended up bored with it and gave up half way through. He's very easily entertained, too. Tells you all you need to know about this game. I only beat it, because I wanted my money's worth.
