Please read, he calculated off a 50% duty cycle. Let's be real, the fan will probably fail or be far too loud within 1-4 years and it will have cost several times over the price paid in power if...

In California (at 52 cents per kwh) then that's $125 a year.

Can this stay operational 24/7? The Xbox cooler can couldn’t be used 24/7 and had to be selectively turned on or off based on usage. But I elite my drink to be cooled all the time

Assuming it’s pulling 55W continuously, it probably cycles like a fridge based on the internal temp so probably a lower duty cycle and would cost half or less depending on that.

In addition to what other people stated already, thermoelectric coolers cannot run continuously. They are definitely not recommended for food, medicine. They can be used for drinks but do not expect...

At 55w, if for example it's active half the day and your electricity cost is the average (17 cents per kwh) then that's $41 a year!

Knowing it's not actually a fridge, I still bought the creeper one for $20. My kids are going to love it, even if they only use it for the lights.

Have this and the creeper model. My kid loves it. It may not cool food like a traditional refrigerator but it looks pretty awesome in his minecraft themed room.

probably higher cost to operate if comparing to a refrigerator of equal size, inefficient vs a regular refrigerator, and limited cooling temperature capabilities edit: sorry, didn't see the...

Just throwing this out there, but I think these are awesome as decorations more so than their intended use case as coolers. You can turn the lights on independently of the cooling function, and just...

Interesting. Just how inefficient are these things? Are we talking about adding $100 to your electric bill every year, or is it not that bad (considering it's a pretty small device)? Edit: I did a...

On top of what the other guy said; thermoelectric coolers are meant to be *coolers*. A fridge will cool down hot and warm things to cold quickly and effectively; these thermoelectric coolers will...
