If you guys live near the border, buy it in Canada. For some reason it's cheaper up here for a change.

Cool story bro. It's like comparing base model toyota to a highly equipped lexus. They're same but different in quality

You asked for something less than $200, and I answered. It might take some work, but lowes has it on clearance. I don't think anyone is going to complain for $75 versus $249.

I've checked out both, and there's not much difference quality wise. Just a bunch of hard plastic with aluminum bracing, IP65 compliance, gas struts, and accessory points.

Anyway, I guess I should shut up and not try to be helpful here anymore.

Well I for one appreciate knowing about the cheaper one. If I had known about it earlier I would have jump at that one. Now I just have to wait till I see it at that.

I think the difference is they're talking about -this item- being under 200, which it has been several times. There are a LOT of systems like this that can be gotten under 200, not just the Flex. It's like talking about 4K LCD TVs in an OLED thread. They're the "same" product, but not necessarily identical. I've seen Packouts fall down a flight of stairs unscathed. That's worth the extra price to some people. Or if they have Packout from other deals, they might not want to change systems. I've been looking specifically for a deal on the rolling tool box. $250 isn't my buy price, but $75 isn't worth it not being compatible with the rest of my kit.

Bought this from HD last year and the handle broke in shipment. Milwaukee couldn't send a handle for some reason, ended up having to return and repurchase.

Not sure what the shipper did to break it (no damage to the box, mind), but it's not indestructible.

Wasn't this 3-box setup like $139 on sale like two years ago and $199 this past Xmas? Not sure how they warrant doubling the price for this but I suppose folks are still buying.

A good friend of mine is an electrician and dumped his Packout stuff after saying it was just too bulky, especially the boxes that hold smaller stuff like connetors/terminals. Nice quality and great design for attaching stuff but the boxes are too big. Both him and I have went to Craftsmans Versastack stuff which is the same as DeWalt Tstak and the size seems about right for homeowner use or for electricians.

To each their own. The Packout sizing is fine if you are rolling them around all the time and there are tons of options of different case sizes. They are also the highest quality of all the competing systems with the most variability and options. But for me, carrying power tools and/or varying kits (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, appliance repair, etc.) in the suitcase style boxes, I went with Ridgid because I prefer the smaller size for that type of case.

I did put Packout feet on the bottom of a Ridgid case, so that I can also roll them around on my Packout stack. Though for most things I tend to do, like going to fix a fridge this afternoon, I just grab the appropriate suitcase and go.
