Now we have Obama continuing this push for universal college education with the government right there encouraging it (damn near compelling it) and financing it. Get the fed govt out of higher education, period. |

The money quote of the entire article:
Although impolite to speak about it, the problem with 4-year institutions these days is the explosion of humanities, specifically, the emergence of so-called area and ethnic studies programs, like middle east studies, black studies, etc. They're nothing more than grievance-industry sops by the universities. devoid of a coherent literary tradition, methodology and theory, and even practitioners. Focused on hating America and teaching history through the tired of a failed political theory (Marxism), these program do an injustice to students who believe they're receiving a real education while taking a gobs of debt to finance it. That's who is running the coffee machines at Starbucks. Not computer engineers, lab techs, etc. |

Although these figures vary widely by profession, associate's degree recipients, on average, end up making about $500,000 more over their careers than people with only high school diplomas, but $500,000 less than people with bachelor's degrees, the Georgetown center calculates." |

It's like the study of fruit flies. Why would we waste time and money on studying those annoying sobs? Well, the researches ended up providing a lot of benefits for us humans. I do know some people who majored in Sociology after some fat school loans and then they hate the work they can only get. Yeah.................. Very smart of them. Now they're back in school again for nursing or something else. More school loans, baby! |
