The rule stems from trolling via thread title. If he'd gone with something that the article was not about, or some trolling claim, it'd apply.

How so? Dahmer is a well known homosexual who murdered several people and cannibalized them. The title is simply and accurately stating those facts, which are noted in the article and being summarized for the thread title.

The title of this thread is also simply and accurately stating facts but the undertone is that the GOP is out to kill Obama, just as there is also an undertone to the Dahmer title I suggested in that homosexuals are murderous cannibals (although by default aren't cannibals murderous?).

Or are you saying that if the title of the article linked was actually "Homosexual Convicted of Serial Murder and Cannabalism" then that thread title would be ok? I'm actually just curious.

I'm pretty sure you know the difference. Just in case you're being serious, I'll take this conversation to PM; I know where these lead when they're done publicly and I don't have the time to deal with the straw arguments today.

Didn't you just get done stating that the thread title doesn't have to match the news headline linked to, as long as the thread title contains something the article was about? "Homosexual Convicted of Serial Murder and Cannabalism" would be what the article was about and a link to the Dahmer case would be sufficient. yet it appears you would lock it for trolling unless the thread title and article title match. Explain?

With a thread title like that, you're switching the focus of the article by putting in loaded words that would be sure to get some feathers ruffled. In other words: trolling. Someone who would alter the article title like that is someone with an agenda other than sharing the article itself to discuss the content of the article.

If you found an article that's entire gist was that Dahmer was a homosexual cannibal, there'd be two important questions to ask yourself:

1. Why am I sharing this? It's not news.
2. What am I doing reading pjmedia?
