Penn State Removes Joe Paterno Statue

The Joe Paterno statue has been removed. Penalties against the university to be announced tomorrow. From what I heard the penalties will be the most severe ever in college sports history.

But will they ever expose the pedophile ring operating at Penn State University...

I still want to know what the penalties are if they're going to be unlike anything we've ever seen.

this is an extremely sad situation. This guy could easily have been viewed as an honorable man forever if he just stood up for those boys being abused. what a piece of trash. Can't imagine why anyone would try to cover that up and risk thier good name for a suspected pedophile???

Joe Paterno still had bosses. Namely the Penn State University Athletic Department. They are the guilty ones allowing the cover up to continue for 14 years.

This is not even a risk kinda thing. Even if risk would have been zero, good men should not stand idle knowing people under them, people whom they can stop, continue raping little children.


He is a disgusting man. He should be shunned and remembered as a type of man people should try to avoid becoming. This was not a spare of the moment bad decision. This condition lasted for years. Even when he saw the outrage of the people and the magnitude of the problem, instead of being remorseful, instead of asking for forgiveness, he defended himself.


If Pen State is given a one year, even a three years death penalty, this would not be even nearly enough. Pen State should lose their NCAA membership, do no football activity for 5 years and at that point rebuild their program slowly.


Further, I hope the wife of Sandusky loses all her belongings and even her house to law suits. She was more than a bystander. She covered for and defended her husband all the way even after the arrest.


Ironically I have the most amount of compassion and willingness to forgive for Sandusky himself. I could be wrong but I think he is not a vicious man. He is just a sick man. But I could be wrong.

we are not talking about theft, fraud or some other lesser crime, we are talking about the rape of underage kids. he couls have reported this and moved to a better work environment.... you know, where kids are not raped in your locker room.

Like I said, there is more to this story. So to say only Joe Paterno is guilty would be naive to say the least. The cover up went on for over 14 years with several people involved. That's what's not being reported.

Sure Paterno had bosses. At least on paper. But nobody had more power and influence at the university than Paterno himself. Sure there are others that participated in the cover-up but he was the one who could have put an end to it. I don't think there was anyone else who could have intimidated Paterno with threats if he had wanted to reveal what was going on and put an end to it.
